FreeState Electric Cooperative is fortunate to be a part of American history by providing infrastructure to historic Fort Leavenworth. This service is a vital part of our business.

Fort Leavenworth may only be considered one member, but the relationship provides revenue that helps us keep our costs stabilized, and we can provide rate stability across the board to all members.

We employ an outpost that serves as an onsite facility that allows us to work directly with the Fort leadership to plan out projects and programs. FreeState staffs the outpost with a superintendent, foreman, and three crew members. This unique relationship allows us to provide our entire line crew with confined spaces training, among other professional development opportunities.

Our crews at the fort cooperate with the Fort on capital improvement projects, as well as basic maintenance and repairs to the electric infrastructure.

Working with Fort Leavenworth allows us the opportunity to power a piece of American history.
