Rheem Water Heaters

Professional Prestige® Hybrid Electric

FreeState Electric Cooperative no longer sells water heaters, however, rebates are only available to East District members at this time due to power supplier differences.  Applications must be submitted within six months of installation.

Water Heater Rebates

Rebates are only available to East District members at this time due to power supplier differences.  Applications must be submitted within 6 months of installation.

ELECTRIC WATER HEATERS:
Installation of Electric Water Heater: $100
Installation of Electric Water Heater with Lifetime Warranty: $150

Water Heater Qualifications:

  • Must be 40-gallon capacity or more
  • An application must be submitted within 6 months of installation

Electric Water Heater Rebate Form

The electric water heating equipment must be permanently installed in the certified territory of FreeState East. An existing electric water heater must be out of warranty to qualify for a rebate if it is replaced. By accepting a rebate, the member agrees to allow FreeState Electric Cooperative to install a load control device or utilize the East District Time of Use Rate for 2 years.

Air Source Heat Pump Rebates

AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMP
Rebates for installation of an air source heat pump:

  • 14.5 SEER - $50 per half-ton
  • 16 SEER - $75 per half-ton
  • 17 SEER or above - $100 per half-ton
  • An application must be submitted within 6 months of installation
  • Air source heat pumps must have a minimum SEER of 14.5

Ground Source Heat Pump Rebates

GROUND SOURCE HEAT PUMP
Rebate for installation of a ground source heat pump - $125 per 1/2 ton of capacity. 

  • Minimum unit size requirement of 2-ton
  • Ground source heat pumps must have a minimum COP of 3.3 and a minimum EER of 14.1 (closed loop), minimum COP of 3.6 and a minimum EER of 16.2 (open loop). 
  • The requirements for a Geothermal heat pump are the minimum requirements set forth by Energy Star
  • An application must be submitted within 6 months of installation

Heat Pump Rebate Form

The heat pump must be permanently installed in the certified territory of FreeState Electric Cooperative. By accepting a rebate, member agrees to allow FreeState to install a load control device or utilize the East District's Time of Use Rate for 2 years.

Do you qualify for a rebate?

Due to power suppliers, rebates are ONLY AVAILABLE TO MEMBERS IN THE EAST DISTRICT. All members can purchase water heaters, but rebates are only available for members in the McLouth District. 

Electric water heater equipment must be permanently installed in the FreeState’s east district certified territory. 

An existing water heater must be out of warranty to qualify for this rebate if it is replaced. 

By accepting a rebate, a member agrees to allow FEC’s East District to either: 

• Utilize FEC’s East District Time of Use Rate for a minimum of 24 months. 

• Application for rebate must occur within 6 months of installation

To qualify for the East District rebate: 

  • Must be 40-gallon capacity or more
  • An application must be submitted within 6 months of installation
