Help YOUR cooperative collect pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Kansas by sippin' all summer!
Bring your pop tabs to FreeState's Crew at the Zoo event on August 27 and do your part to help keep families close right here in Northeast Kansas.
Collecting pop tabs is a fun and easy way to give back to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Kansas – perfect for all ages and groups. When large amounts of aluminum pop tabs are collected at the House, we take them to a recycling center. According to the price of aluminum, the recycling center gives us a check. This check goes back into the House for general operating expenses – keeping our doors open to continue to serve our families.
Why pop tabs?
The pop tabs are made of different quality aluminum and are more easily recycled than cans. They are cleaner and easier to handle when receiving large volumes. However, the amount of money received is determined by the weight of aluminum collected. These pop tabs can make a big impact when collected in numbers.
How you can help FreeState
Just sip all summer and collect those tabs. This is a great fun family challenge! Grown-ups challenge the kids, or kids challenge the grown-ups to see just how many tabs they can collect over the summer months.
FreeState's Crew at the Zoo event is on Saturday, August 27, at the Topeka Zoo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Just bring your summer collection along with you and drop it off. We'll make sure RMHC gets all the tabs.
Can't make it to the zoo? No problem. Just drop off the tabs at either cooperative office during Zoo Week from August 22 to August 26 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
You can always drop tabs off directly at the house in Topeka. Click here for more information on how you can make a pop tab or other donation or get your family involved with other ways to serve an organization that serves so many families in need.
Every pop tab you pop is one step closer to keeping families close together.
