FreeState offers SMS communication with individuals to enhance the convenience and accessibility of our services for our member-owners. By opting in, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms and conditions and agree to comply with them. 

Message frequency will vary. SMS opt-in or phone numbers for SMS are not shared with any third parties or affiliate companies for marketing purposes. 

By opting in to receive SMS messages from FreeState, you agree to the following terms:

Consent: By checking the opt-in box, you consent to receive SMS messages from FreeState. You can opt-out at any time by replying "STOP" to any of our messages.

Types of SMS Communications: These messages only relate to cooperative follow-up information.  

Standard Messaging Disclosures: Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency will vary based on your interactions with FreeState.

Privacy: Your phone number and SMS opt-in information will not be shared with any third parties or affiliate companies for marketing purposes.

Modifications: FreeState reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to you via SMS or other appropriate channels.

You can opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time. To do so, simply reply "STOP" to any SMS message you receive. Alternatively, you can contact us directly to request removal from our messaging list.

Additional Options:

FreeState Privacy Policy
FreeState is a member-owned and member-controlled electric cooperative. FreeState operates on a not-for-profit basis for the benefit of its member-owners. Accordingly, the Board has adopted this Policy on Privacy of Member-Owners Information to establish fair information principles for FreeState in carrying out its responsibility to respect the privacy of personally identifiable information about member-consumers.

Notice: FreeState publicly discloses its policies and practices for the collection, maintenance, use, and disclosure of personally identifiable information about member-owners.                     

Trust: FreeState maintains information about member-owners suitable for its operations and for the benefit of its member-owners. It collects personally identifiable information only by fair and lawful means and for appropriate purposes. It maintains the information in an accurate, complete, and timely manner as necessary for the purpose for which the information is to be used. Member-owners may examine service, billing, and capital account information about themselves and may correct any inaccurate, incomplete, or untimely information.

Security: FreeState maintains member-owner information with reasonable and appropriate technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect against foreseeable hazards such as loss, unauthorized access, destruction, misuse, modification, and improper disclosure.

Use and Disclosure: FreeState uses and discloses personally identifiable information about member-owners in defined and responsible ways to carry out its operation and benefit its member-owners. It allows member-owners to exercise choice about disclosure of personal information to affiliates offering new products and services.  It does not sell, rent, loan, exchange, or otherwise release mailing lists or telephone lists of member-owners for marketing purposes.

The Board is responsible for approving detailed practices and procedures for governing the collection, maintenance, use, and disclosure of personally identifiable information about member-owners and for overseeing the implementation of the practices and procedures by the CEO and the employees.
